From Yiddy Lebovits

Artist, Designer, Illustrator

Thanks to the one above, I am privileged to live in the land of our Fathers, fulfilling a dream of settling in the Holy Land. I made Aliya and moved from NY to Jerusalem in 2013.

Living in Jerusalem, and I can't get enough of what the city has to offer.

Walking the streets and experiencing the prophecy, as it is written: "Old men and old women will again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each man with his staff in his hand because of age... and the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets" (Zechariah 8:5).

As an artist, it has provoked in me a desire to draw what my heart and soul sees on a regular basis. From Machane Yehudah Shuk with its sensory wonderland to the narrow Meah Shearim and Nachlaot alleyways.

About Yiddy Lebovits

Written after his passing
Yiddy was more than an artist—he was a soul of light, faith, and yearning. A deeply spiritual man with a profound love for Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisroel, Yiddy lived and created from the depths of his neshamah. He didn’t just paint—he prayed through color, line, and form. He drew from whatever medium was near—oil paint, charcoal, ink, even a simple pencil from his pocket. Entirely self-taught, his art came not from a classroom but from a quiet place of truth and inner vision.

As a proud Chassid, Yiddy saw no contradiction in embracing the entire Jewish people. His deepest longing was achdus—unity and respect among all kinds of Jews. His artwork often blended his Chassidic roots with a universal love for Am Yisrael. He saw only souls. His eyes beheld the essence in every person, and his art was a mirror of that unconditional love.

Yiddy was also a devoted husband and a deeply dedicated father. In 2013, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by making aliyah with his family. He was not afraid of the challenges—he saw it as a sacred obligation and trusted that Hashem would not forsake those who chose His path. With incredible warmth and wisdom, Yiddy helped countless other families navigate the transition to life in Eretz Yisroel, often standing strong even in the face of criticism. He offered encouragement, clarity, and unwavering support to anyone seeking to build a life here.

In 2022, Yiddy passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a shattered family and a wide circle of heartbroken friends, students, and admirers. His absence is utterly devastating. He was very, very beloved. A man of rare gentleness and strength, whose presence lifted others, whose words soothed, and whose art reached places language could not.

During his lifetime, Yiddy’s work was featured in several galleries, though he never sought fame. His only desire was to inspire—to bring holiness and unity into this fractured world.

We have chosen to keep his original pieces close, as they are part of our soul. But we are humbled to offer high-quality prints to those who feel moved by his vision. These are not just images—they are echoes of a soul, fragments of a light that still shines.

We invite you to explore Yiddy’s collection and find a piece that speaks to your heart. In doing so, you are helping carry forward his legacy—a legacy of love, achdus, and emunah.
